Envision Festival 2026 - Visuals and LEDs

An incredible two weeks working on the Luna main stage at Envision festival, Costa Rica,
creating the visual experience for the performances. My role involved designing and animating
projected visuals, as well as operating pixel-mapped LED lighting through Resolume during live shows.

The Luna stage hosted a wide range of performances, from electronic DJs to live bands and instrumental sets. Highlights from this year's lineup included CloZee, Polo & Pan, Grouch and Emancipator.
Role
Motion Designer & LED lighting operator

Scope
Design and animation of stage visuals, projection content creation, pixel-mapped LED lighting operation during live performances

Creating the Visuals

I didn’t see the stage until a few days before the festival opened, which meant the entire visual world had to come together on-site in the jungle. I was animating during the day for visuals that would be played live on the stage that same night. The quick turnaround meant making fast creative decisions, constantly testing ideas, and adapting the visuals as the environment and performances evolved.

Working in this kind of environment encouraged a much more instinctive creative process. I focused on experimenting quickly without overthinking it. The visuals needed to work across very different musical styles and tempos. I took inspiration from the textures and colours of the jungle environment. The stage design was symmetrical and temple-like, which led me to experiment with mirrored compositions and evolving patterns. By adjusting their movement and pacing, the visuals could shift between slower atmospheric moments and faster, high energy sets.

Below is a selection of the visuals I created in After Effects.
Animating On-Site

Opening After Effects in the jungle was a first. My studio moved around a bit, from a jungle hut,
to the production treehouse, to front of house during the shows.
LED Lighting & Live Operation

Alongside the projected visuals, the Luna stage also featured pixel-mapped LED lighting integrated into the stage structure. The system was installed by Nat, while I assisted with operating the LED visuals through Resolume.

Using the mapped setup, I created a series of animated patterns that could be triggered and adjusted in real time. I then adapted the patterns, colours and movement of the lights in response to the music and atmosphere on stage.
Build & BTS

Seeing the stage take shape was a huge part of the process.

As the structure, lighting and projectors were installed, we were able to test how the visuals and lighting would work in the space. This allowed for real-time adjustments, refining how everything interacted with the stage design and environment.

It was also a chance to see the full system come together for the first time, before the festival began.
Credits

Below are a few moments I captured from the shows, featuring visuals created by
Oliver Allaux, Taylor Henson and Kash, who led the visuals across the week.

I learned a lot working alongside them, and it was a pleasure to be part of such a talented team
bringing the stage to life each night.
