anam cara arts festival 2026 - main stage visual identity
Designed and animated the main stage visual identity for Anam Cara's first year.
Using the Celtic Trinity Knot as the core design, I developed a flexible system that formed the visual world for live music, comedy and storytelling.
I also led the full technical delivery of the visuals, including projection mapping and live VJ operation throughout the festival.

The Identity
Firstly, the façade design itself. Built around the Celtic Trinity Knot, reflecting the festival’s ethos of connection. Designed in its simplest form with maximum surface for projection goodness.
The System
The Trinity Knot formed the ambient visuals between acts and into the night, while the circular framework displayed artist visuals and text. The modular toolkit of animated patterns, colours, text and graphic elements could be mixed and matched for endless combinations, allowing new visuals to be created live during performances.
The Visuals
Every designer's dream brief... "create whatever you like, just have fun with it". This opened the door to a lot of experimentation.
Each artist received their own visual treatment, with different styles and typefaces explored for their set, while the motion language stayed consistent throughout.
The content was designed with projection mapping in mind, enhancing the stage geometry and creating a greater sense of depth on the physical surface.
